A great day on the golf course depends on more than a good swing—it depends on every golfer doing their part to create a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Whether you're a first-time visitor or a longtime member of Mackenzie Golf & Country Club, we ask all players to follow these simple guidelines while on the course.
1. Respect Our Liquor Licence
As a licensed facility, only alcoholic beverages purchased at Mackenzie Golf & Country Club are permitted on the premises.
Please enjoy responsibly and help us comply with British Columbia's liquor licensing regulations.
2. Golf Safely
Always be aware of your surroundings before taking a shot.
Never hit when another group, maintenance staff, nearby homes, or other people could be within range. Every golfer is responsible for ensuring their shot can be played safely.
3. Follow Course Signage
Please observe all posted signs, local rules, and GPS notifications (where applicable).
These signs are in place to protect golfers, staff, wildlife, and the course itself.
4. Operate Golf Carts Responsibly
Power carts should always be driven safely and courteously.
- Drivers must hold a valid driver's licence.
- Follow all posted cart direction signs.
- Keep a safe distance from other golfers and carts.
- Maximum of two people per cart.
5. Keep Up the Pace of Play
A steady pace helps everyone enjoy their round.
Be ready when it's your turn, limit unnecessary delays, and keep up with the group ahead whenever possible.
6. Protect the Course
Please avoid driving golf carts:
- On putting greens
- On tee boxes
- Into bunkers
These areas are carefully maintained and can be easily damaged.
7. Report Problems
If you witness an accident, unsafe behaviour, or damage to the course, please notify a staff member as soon as possible.
Working together helps keep the course safe for everyone.
8. Respect Sensitive Areas
Some areas of the course are environmentally sensitive and are clearly marked.
Please stay out of these areas to help protect local habitats and preserve the natural beauty of the course.
9. Remember the Three R's
Every golfer plays a role in keeping the course in excellent condition.
- Repair your ball marks on the greens.
- Replace your divots on the fairways.
- Rake the bunker after your shot.
These small actions make a big difference for the players behind you.
10. Show Courtesy to Fellow Golfers
Golf is built on sportsmanship and respect.
Be courteous to other players, course staff, and volunteers. Celebrate good shots, be patient with beginners, and most importantly—have fun!
